This is the foundation of great skincare. Water is used as a carrier in facial
moisturizers to help make active ingredients more effective. Our water is
purified with a proprietary 6 stage filtering process to meet USP standards.

Glycerin is a humectant, meaning it holds or seals moisture into the skin.
It naturally occurs in your skin’s lipid layer. Glycerin will significantly improve
moisture levels throughout the day when added onto your skin.

Olay’s Glycerin comes from plants that are biodegradable. Our Glycerin is
99% pure and meets the Pharmacopeia standards for safety and efficacy.
Hyaluronic acid is a tried and true hydrator that is naturally found in the
body and can decrease with age. It is a “super moisture sponge”, meaning
that when applied to skin, water attaches to the molecule and plumps it up.
It can hold more than one thousand times its weight in water.

Olay uses sodium Hyaluronate, which is a form of hyaluronic acid that
dissolves effectively into skincare formulas.

We have used hyaluronic acid in our formulas for over 10 years.
Vitamin E is an oil based anti-oxidant that helps protect the skin from
surface free radicals in our environment. Essentially, Vitamin E helps
prevent the effects of air pollution which would otherwise accelerate
signs of skin aging. Make sure to also look for water based antioxidants
for more complete protection.

Olay’s Vitamin E is food grade, meeting the USP, EP and FCC standards.
Tocopheryl Acetate is also unique in that it is a form of Vitamin E that is
stable even while it is exposed to oxygen.

Vitamin A is the most potent wrinkle fighting ingredient in anti-aging skincare.
It helps to maintain collagen. Vitamin A is the number one wrinkle fighting
ingredient recommended by dermatologists.

Olay’s Vitamin A derivative is actually a variant called Pro-Retinol (also
Retinyl Propionate) that is a topical retinoid.

Our ingredient is actually made
as a unique ester that protects the potency of the ingredient while it is
absorbing into the skin’s surface. Olay’s Pro-Retinol products are protected
by a nitrogen filled double walled environment to maintain a stable oxygen
barrier to ensure highest potency.

Niacinamide, also known as vitamin B3 and nicotinamide, is one of the most
revered and hardest-working ingredients in skincare. Niacinamide delivers 5
main benefits including: improved moisture barrier, reduced appearance of
large pores, fine lines and wrinkles, dark spots and regenerated surface skin.

Olay’s Niacinamide has a 99% purity rating and is actually better than USP
food grade.

Olay has been researching niacinamide for over 20 years and was one of the
first to market.

Peptides are naturally occurring small proteins in the skin composed of a small
number of amino acids linked together. They are essentially the triggers that
help skin replenish collagen levels. Skincare peptides found in facial moisturizers
penetrate into the skin’s surface and are clinically shown to help reduce the
appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

Only three very specific peptides are used in Olay products: Carnosine, Pal
KT (aka palmitoyl di-peptide-7), and PalKTTKS (aka palmitoyl pentapeptide-4).
In fact, we co-developed Pal-KT and it has been used exclusively by our
scientists. It’s known for a unique hydrating ability that helps increase the
levels of naturally occurring hyaluronic acid in the skin’s surface.

Titanium Dioxide is a mineral used to cover and blur skin imperfections. This
ingredient helps to immediately improve the appearance of skin tone and texture.

Olay’s Titanium Dioxide is specially coated and sized to optimize both
feel and visual benefits.

Dimethicone is a silicone ingredient that provides the unique silky

smooth feel of hydrated, young skin.

Parabens are a class of preservatives – necessary and safe – that are widely used in
skincare. Parabens defend against mold, yeast, and bacteria in your skincare products.
With parabens, the amount you use is most important. Olay uses amounts within the
safe ranges established by scientific and regulatory agencies.

Olay’s products are formulated with a combination of methyl, ethyl, and propyl
Propylene Glycol helps ingredients penetrate into the skin’s surface –
making sure the right ingredients get to where they need to go. It
also is considered a humectant that helps hold moisture in the skin.

Olay’s Propylene Glycol is sourced from the labs to meet the USP, EP
and FCC standards.
